Kunstposter. Na 42 jaar neemt Cor van Wees, het meesterbrein achter tientallen Pinkpop-posters, afscheid van het festival. Maar de kunstposter leeft voort. De poster van dit jaar is gemaakt door zijn dochter, modeontwerpster Iris van Wees.

Iris van Wees presents digital fashion as a creative and commercial alternative to the current fashion system. The interaction between virtual and physical is central in her work. In the specially developed Iris-van-Wees app, the user finds digitally designed looks, an outfit to experience in 3D and physical shirts and jumpers can be activated.

Amsterdam Fashion Week 28 november 2019. Wij zaten samen met Iris van Wees nadat ze haar 3D virtual fashion collectie presenteerde tijdens Lichting 2019. Een aantal weken geleden werd de Nederlandse ontwerpster ook nog eens bekroond met de Fashion Makes Sense Award tijdens het Fashion Clash Festival. Genoeg redenen om ons te verdiepen in haar.

Iris van Wees & Gary/Gerdien van Halteren (garywelt) recently moved in together; sharing a studio in de Broedplaats of Volkshotel. While talking about previous projects, Iris saw a thread in her work; the premises or themes of the projects she intuitively chose, came to fruition one or two years afterwards. Themes like coming-out, or burn-out; both themes that Gary could also relate to.

This year, Iris van Wees, who also participated in Lichting 2019 earlier this year, and Garciabello were awarded prizes. Garciabello went home with the jury prize of 2,500 euros. Iris van Wees won the public award which was 1,000 euros. The honourable mention of the jury went to Elke Lutgerink. The jury consisted of John de Greef, Emy Demkes.
